UNITAR launches this week two new training activities for African diplomats at the UN Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Both training courses focus on Drafting Conference Outcomes and Documents, and will be in English and French. The objectives are to help government delegates improve their skills in resolution-drafting and enable them to acquire a better understanding of the procedures and practices for decision-making by Member States, at the United Nations and African Union.
The South African Diplomatic Academy and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie partner with UNITAR for six diplomacy training programmes in Addis Ababa, in 2009. This is the seventh training event organized since 2007 in Addis Ababa by UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme.
