Call for Registration – Collaborative Leadership and the 2030 Agenda

16 February 2016, Geneva, Switzerland – Registration will soon close for the February 2016 workshop entitled, “Collaborative Leadership and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

With the recent adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is expected that all actors involved in sustainable development understand the importance of effective collaboration. Achieving the objectives of this new agenda will clearly require multi-partner engagement, as the actions necessary are beyond the control of any one group of actors.

Participants in a United Nations meeting hold hands in unity

While there are clear benefits from working with others to achieve results we cannot achieve alone, effective collaboration can be challenging. This workshop aims at helping leaders and decision-makers working with the United Nations to recognize when collaboration is effective, understand some of the most common barriers to effective collaboration and be able to put in place practical measures to overcome them. It will consider what contributes to effective collaboration and suggest how organizations and individual managers can be effective collaborators. At the end of the session, participants are invited to draft a short action plan leveraging the tools and concepts learned.

This workshop includes a self-paced e-learning course (optional) and four half-day face-to-face practical sessions, which will take place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
