Cooperation Agreement Between UNITAR and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)
On 24 September 2010, UNITAR concluded a Cooperation Agreement with the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK, to set up a Traineeship Programme to be implemented at UNITAR’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
SOAS is the only higher education institution in the United Kingdom specializing in the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It offers a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and its School of Law is highly recognized for outstanding teaching and research activities focusing on the study of law in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The Traineeship Programme aims to further develop formative paths for students by providing them with an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while gaining insight into the works of an international institution. The overall goal is to promote and develop the professional skills of the trainees including the ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment. Thanks to this agreement, SOAS students will be able to undertake internships at UNITAR for a period of up to 6 months.
UNITAR’s International Law Programme (ILP) looks forward to welcoming SOAS interns in the near future.
