3 and 4 June, Geneva, Switzerland. In the framework of UNITAR’s Core Diplomatic Training (CDT) offer, the Institute organised a two-day workshop in Geneva that aimed at strengthening the communication and negotiation skills of eleven participants.
Negotiations pose a constant challenge to all experts and practitioners; in particular to those working in multilateral fora. In every area of international relations, successful negotiations are key to achieving results as well as peaceful and effective change.
During the workshop Mr. Vincent Skorokhodoff, consultant and trainer in communication and management, helped to increase participants’ understanding of various aspects of communication during negotiations. The overall feedback from participants was very positive. They appreciated that the workshop not only allowed them to strengthen their knowledge of communication techniques, but moreover gave them the opportunity to put this knowledge into practise during many simulation exercises.
Thanks to the generous support of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, UNITAR was able to offer fellowships to diplomats from the Group 77 enabling them to participate free of charge.
