From 14 to 16 June 2011, New York, USA. The UNITAR New York Office will organize a course on International Migration Law, jointly organized with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the MacArthur Foundation. The three-day course is part of the 2011 Migration and Development Seminar Series and will be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

This course will inform the diplomatic community in New York and other relevant stakeholders of the latest issues on international migration law, migration terminology and human rights of migrants, and responsibilities of states operating within the rule of law. The briefing will be an opportunity to understand the international legal framework including international labour laws and protection of non-nationals, irregular migration, laws of the sea, and international refugee law.
