The “GHS Stocktaking Workshop for Southeast, East, and Central Asia” took place in Beijing, China from 15-17 September 2010. It was attended by over 120 participants from 20 countries, including government officials, business and industry, and public interest and labour organization representatives involved in sectors affected by the GHS. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss experiences with GHS implementation in countries of Southeast (ASEAN), East and Central Asia and consider concrete issues related to GHS implementation in the region. The workshop was organized through the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China, UNITAR, ILO, and WHO, with financial support from the Government of Switzerland, the Government of Germany, and the European Union.
