UNITAR e-Learning Course on 'Basic Course on Public Debt Management'

These selected comments were taken from the Course Evaluation Questionnaire (Survey) submitted by the participants. Due to limited space we cannot print the hundreds of comments made available. The purpose of this compilation is to help prospective participants assess the usefulness of the course.

This particular online course offered by UNITAR has really given me sufficient knowledge of the subject and I am very thankful to the team and our instructor for giving me this rare opportunity to participate and be selected as one of the participants.

Course Objectives and Expected Outcomes
This course was designed for debt managers that include officials from government, central bankers and other institutions handling public debt issues. The course provided participants with working knowledge on the concepts and techniques of public debt management. Specifically, the course allowed participants a greater understanding and appreciation of the (a) definition and significance of public debt management, (b) measures to achieve sustainability, (c) legal and organizational matters, (d) monitoring and computerization of debt data, (e) budget and public debt management, (f) external and domestic public debt, (g) contingent liability, and (h) risk management.

Course Duration and Work Load
This course was conducted by UNITAR over the internet and was made available to participants for a six-week period. The course required participants to work for at least 25 hours to complete all compulsory reading materials and assignments during this six-week period. I would like to express my gratitude for being a part of the UNITAR e-learning initiative in as much as the course gave me a clearer picture of my work in the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the concepts introduced are very useful in my understanding of public debt as a whole. I would like to be a part of the other courses lined up by UNITAR and would like to be more participative in the future to be able to share my views online.

I am more than honored to have been a part of the UNITAR e-learning fraternity. It has widened my understanding of what I do and hopefully, God willing, will open new doors for me. Many Thanks for the UNITAR Team.

The course is fantastic, well packed and very innovative.

The course has been most enlightening and like all previous UNITAR courses I have been privileged to take, it has been quite rewarding and worthwhile.

The course coordination offered by UNITAR is second to none. Congratulations.

I want to take this opportunity in thanking all for making this course a success. The Course Director has been very patient and helpful to us, so was the Technical Team. The impact of this course in my life needs not to be overemphasized. I had little understanding about Public Debt Management, but with the help of UNITAR, I can now broadly stand and talk about Public Debt Management. Remember, we are now one BIG FAMILY! I'm going to miss this very much!

From my very first shot at UNITAR online course, I have always been anxious for more. This is because I got better after each course.

It was a nice experience. I hope UNITAR will continue this with the spirit to improve and expand this program to other areas of specialization.

All I can say is thank you for this wonderful program.
