Partnerships

We have worked with various organizations from the United Nations as well as national and local governments, the private sector and NGOs.  Here are some of the partners that we have worked with:

  • Basque Public Institutions:  UNITAR and the Basque Public Institutions have been cooperating since 2004 when CIFAL Bilbao was established by both parties.  UNITAR delivers its Digital Local Agenda workshops with the general contribution by the Basque Public Institutions.

  • Microsoft Inc.:  UNITAR and Microsoft organized e-governance workshops for local government leaders in Central Asia, namely Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.  Now we are planning to expand the scope of cooperation to other areas.

  • International Telecommunication Union (ITU):  UNITAR has been involved in the Cyber Security Working Group.

  • University of Zurich, e-Democracy Centre:  UNITAR and the University of Zurich, e-Democracy Centre co-organized a Curriculum building workshop on “e-Democracyin 2007.

  • Alcatel-Lucent (former Alcatel):  Alcatel contributed to preparatory workshops toward the Bilbao Summit in 2005, and follow-up workshops in 2006, by providing expertise and funding to organize e-Governance workshops.
