UNITAR launches new Course on Law of International Organizations
Nowadays, international organizations are playing an increasingly important role in the international legal order. They are active in virtually all fields of human activity: they regularly conclude international treaties and continuously interact with other actors of international law and they wield growing normative powers. For those working for or dealing with international organizations, a sound understanding of the law of international organizations thus appears indispensable.
In order to respond to the strong demand for an advanced specialized training in this topic, UNITAR launches a new e-Learning Course on the Law of International Organization, which provides participants with a comprehensive knowledge of the key issues of the Law of International Organizations that is necessary in order to understand their role and position in the contemporary legal order.
The e-Course on the Law of International Organizations will be the second of a series of courses on current subjects in International Law. The first e-course of this series, the e-Course on the Law of Treaties, was successfully held in March 2011.
The course will be delivered over 4 weeks from 5 to 30 March 2012, in English, through UNITAR Virtual e-Learning Environment. e-Learning methodology allows participants flexibility, being able to work at their own pace, anywhere and anytime. Experts in international law will moderate the courses and guide participants in their learning process. Furthermore, UNITAR’s staff will provide them with technical support to use the innovative learning tools available on the platform.
For this course, UNITAR grants reduced fees for participants from least developed countries, developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
