They had a cooler and drier summer than normal this year.
Seedlings and saplings are growing well - the height of baby seedlings of Ginkgo are 10cm, saplings of Japanese fern palm 15cm, and the Wisteria and Camellia 20cm. All are in good health. They were put outdoors in a shade hut for summer and will be overwintered inside a cool greenhouse.

June 23: GLH seedlings of Camellia, Wisteria, and adventitious buds of Japanese fern palm were taken back to the U.S. Planted in pots now, they will be delivered to Powell Gardens in July.
- Hamline University, St. Paul, MN: Seeds of Ginkgo, Kurogane holly and Camphor delivered. Succeeded after a 2-year- trial—and the seeds now sprouting (June 11, 2013)
- Hamline University in Minneapolis-St. Paul: On June 20, 2012, seeds of Ginkgo, Camphor, Kurogane holly and Persimmon were delivered.
