UNITAR’s Climate Change Programme has received a grant of CAD 175,275 (USD 145,000) from The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada to support the activities of five pilot projects in Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa in 2009.   The five pilot projects under the umbrella project “Advancing Capacities to support Climate Change Adaptation” (ACCCA) bring together stakeholders and the scientific community, to jointly implement climate change adaptation projects that address environmental changes and promote sustainable development.   The grant is part of a three year financial commitment of IDRC to support UNITAR’s projects on climate change adaptation in Africa.   For more information please visit the ACCCA website
