Contexte

The Dominican Republic is one of five pilot countries that implement a UN CC:Learn Project on Strengthening Human Resources and Skills to Address Climate Change in 2011-2013. The projects aim at supporting countries in taking a strategic and results-oriented approach to climate change learning. The project in the Dominican Republic is led by the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (NCCCCDM).

Through a multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral process the country developed a National Strategy to Strengthen Human Resources and Skills to Advance Green, Low Emissions and Climate Resilient Development. This high-level event is organized as part of the second phase of the national UN CC:Learn pilot project aimed at initiating implementation of the National Strategy.
