Working for a big international organisation, one is called upon to facilitate and or speak in many different contexts such as in public, in international meetings and in informal discussions. Facilitation and communication skills are vital to an employee’s capacity to promote the interests of his or her organisation.

But(s) de l'évènement

This Moduel aims to provide participants with tools to facilitate successful and effective meetings and workshops as well as techniques for public speaking. With a focus on practical and interactive exercises, the training workshop will allow participants to identify their own strengths and weaknesses as facilitators and public speakers, and build on current and new skills and capacities. Participants will deal with simulated situations of facilitation and public speaking and receive feedback from the group and the trainer alike.

Group dynamics and behavior as well as strategies for building consensus and coping with difficult meeting participants will also be covered in this Module.

Objectifs d'apprentissage

 At the end of the Module, participants should be able to:

  • Prepare and facilitate meetings with greater confidence;
  • Identify personal strengths and weaknesses as facilitators;
  • Define essential concepts of public speaking and practise them;
  • Demonstrate public speaking techniques – including preparation, structure and delivery;
  • Use their voice to effect when public speaking: diction, intonation, rhythm and pacing;
  • Combat public speaking anxiety.

Sound instructional design aligned with practical and tangible relevance to the Global Fund will be applied in this Moduel. The training is designed to be highly interactive and participatory, and will include a variety of simulation exercises and pedagogical tools to enable the participants to acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the topic at hand. For that reason, 20 participants per training workshop is a maximum.
