UNITAR Series on International Economics and Finance

Bringing together experts and scholars from both the public and private sectors, including representatives from regional economic giants such as Japan, India and China, the series explores a systematic analysis of specific government policies in the Asia-Pacific region in order to emphasise means by which countries undergoing post-conflict reconstruction can attract foreign capital to facilitate more effective economic policy.

Key features of the Series:

• Special focus on economies under reconstruction;

• Participation of high-level economic experts to stimulate thinking on appropriate means to attract ODA and FDI in a comprehensive and synergetic manner;

• Production and distribution of a specific priority list and proposed policy document to be submitted to governmental authorities of participating countries;

• Creation of a strong network of trained officials to serve as a forum for information exchange and the harmonization of future action.

Focus of study:

• Development strategies – successful cases and challenges for economies under reconstruction;

• Policies for attracting foreign capital;

• Channeling capital for development financing;

• Facilitating inter-sectoral cooperation.
