Born in 1961, Ambassador Kamaldinov graduated from KazakhStateUniversity and studied at the Institute of Asian and AfricanStates, MoscowStateUniversity as well as the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has held prominent positions including First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Japan, Head of Section of the Department of Bilateral Co-operation, and Deputy-Director of the Department of Asia, Middle East and Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Head of External Economic Division, Office of the Prime Minister. He assumed his current post in 2007. 


 

Roundtable Topic 

The importance of cooperation with countries such as Kazakhstan, which is rich in natural resources, is growing inline with the increasing severity of the global situation concerning energy resources. Ka-zakhstan has many mineral resources such as rare metals for which its output ranks it within the global top ten. Kazakhstan is also one of the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and has strengthened its ties with other countries since independence in 1991. It is one of the countries in Central Asia that is gaining increasing attention. Ambassador Kamaldinov will speak about the political and economic priorities of Kazakhstan and its economic cooperation and exchange with Japan, as well as results of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Japan in June.
