The World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and Pacific Region (WHITRAP)

The World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and Pacific Region (WHITRAP) is an institute under the auspices of UNESCO and a non-profit training and research center.
 
The major objectives of WHITRAP are:
  • to contribute to the achievement of a more balanced geographical distribution of training and research institutions and activities in World Heritage conservation; Increase the balanced representation of Asia-Pacific properties on the World Heritage List;
  • to promote better protection and management of the World Heritage properties in the region;
  • to raise awareness of the World Heritage among the general public;
  • to foster international collaboration with UNESCO and other international and national bodies.
 
WHITRAP is holding its Advanced Course in World Heritage Conservation and Management (WHCM) in Autumn 2010 and has launched its Call for Applications.
