The 2011 Cycle of the UNITAR Fellowship for Afghanistan was recently completed successfully with a final workshop held in Kabul from 11 to 14 February 2012. The session, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan, graduated 54 Fellows, who have diligently participated in the eight-month long capacity-building programme. They also delivered their final presentations on organisational change and management to better empower their organsations to contribute to the future of Afghanistan. The Head of the UNITAR Hiroshima Office, Mr. Alex Mejia travelled to Kabul to present at the Workshop, as well as to conduct the certification ceremony, which was presided over by the Minister of Finance of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Omar Zakhilwal. Pictured here is the graduating class, including a number of female government officials.
