To mark International Human Rights Day (10 December), UNITAR HOAP Director Nassrine Azimi gave a lecture at Hiroshima Jogakuin University to a group of some 40 students from Japan and other countries. In her lecture entitled "Human Rights, Human Responsibilities: a personal reflection” she explored the subject of Human Rights, focusing on definitions, history and the current context. She stressed the importance of women’s rights and responsibilities and possible contributions to improving human rights situation around the world. Following the lecture, the Director answered questions relating to the work of the UNITAR Hiroshima Office, education and women’s rights in particular.
