Ambassador Suvidhya Simaskul was born in 1949. He received a B.A. in International Relations from the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, a Diploma from Institut International d'Administration Publique in France and also studied at the National Defence College of Thailand. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Economic Affairs in 1973. After postings in Brussels and Sydney, he became Director-General of several departments at the Ministry and thereafter Ambassador of Thailand to Laos (2000), to Canada (2003) and finally to Japan since July 2004.
