Roundtable Topic

There are many activities that have been conducted by the UN, with the support of the Government of Japan, in order to promote Human Security. These international initiatives are aimed at the protection of human beings from serious and wide-spread threats such as civil conflicts, poverty, environmental degradation and infectious diseases, and aim to empower people. The issue of climate change is one of the United Nations’ top priority issues in connection to Human Security. The UN aims to call more attention to the seriousness of global warming and its effect on human society and life on Earth, and also to remind us that the solution lies in our own hands.
