From 23 – 27 February

UNITAR held a training course on international negotiation in partnership with the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Eleven diplomats took part in the course, which was led by a group of in-house UNITAR trainers and senior diplomats/former ambassadors. Marking the fourth year of the Institute’s cooperation with IDS, the course introduced the intricacies of multilateral conferences, negotiations and diplomacy; formal procedures and decision-making; effective speaking in conferences; and strategies, skills and tactics required for maximizing national objectives. In addition to presentations, group discussions and videos, a number of simulation exercises allowed Saudi diplomats practice negotiation skills and techniques.
