LDP's E-learning Courses
LDP provides e-learning opportunities to increase the outreach of its training activities. Its online training programmes, based on sound academic principles, are intended for decision-makers from local governments, representatives of national governments, the private sector and NGOs. LDP online courses are grounded on sound adult pedagogical principles. They include highly social elements, self-assessment activities, case studies and peer-to-peer review and evaluation. This wide set of activities ensures knowledge sharing among participants and stimulates the creation of lively networks, which last long after the online courses end.
LDP's first course, ‘Governance in Urban Sanitation’ was launched successfully in 2009. It is delivered in English and French and it has already benefited more than 250 participants around the world.
LDP's second e-learning course was launched in 2010 on ‘Sustainable Urban Mobility in Developing Countries’ . This course was launched in cooperation with the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), formerly known as 'GIZ'.
