The Port Harcourt Project Office (PHPO)

Our mission

PHPO, part of the Local Development Programme, was opened on 23 March 2006 as a field office in Nigeria. Working in collaboration with federal, states and local authorities, the Office has been implementing various training and capacity building activities. Initial conceptualization of PHPO was based on two main pillars of UNITAR Local Development Programme: close cooperation with regional governments, local authorities and elected municipalities on the one hand, and strong transparent public-private partnerships on the other hand.
