O Programa de Cooperação Descentralizada (DCP) da UNITAR oferece uma formação inovadora que visa reforçar a capacidade das autoridades do governo e líderes da sociedade civil, e contribuir para o avanço do desenvolvimento sustentável. Os programas de treinamento da DCP servem como uma plataforma para troca de conhecimento e para facilitar a cooperação entre as autoridades de diferentes níveis de governo, da sociedade civil e do setor privado. A formação do DCP abrange uma variedade de temas de desenvolvimento sustentável e é realizada em diferentes formas, incluindo eventos presenciais, cursos de aprendizagem online (e-learning), programas de educação avançados e atividades de aprendizagem combinadas.

DCP tem uma presença mundial através de sua sede em Genebra, escritório em PortHarcourt, centro ITCCO em Antuérpia na Bélgica, e uma rede global de 10 centros CIFAL na África, Ásia, Europa, Américas e do Caribe.

01 September, 2014, Jeju, Republic of Korea - CIFAL Jeju hosted its fourth training for youth under the theme “Nature, Culture, and the Youth” from 12 to 14 August. The three-day training gathered students from the United States, China and Japan. The event was part of a series of workshops aimed at engaging youth as a main actor of the future of sustainable development.

27 August 2014, Davos, Switzerland – In the framework of the fifth International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRC) held in Davos from 24-28 August 2014, UNITAR hosted a special session on “Enhancing Urban Resilience”. The fifth IDRC, organized by the Global Risk Forum, gathered hundreds of DRR practitioners from public and private entities ranging from academia, to governments, international agencies and insurance companies.

20 August 2014, Almaty, Kazakhstan - A second group of Afghan officials from the Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs are currently attending the first module of the joint UNITAR-Graduate Institute Executive Master’s Degree in Development Policies and Practices (DPP), which started on July 28. Classes are taking place in Almaty at KIMEP University, a prestigious academic partner in this initiative.
