Customized, Demand-Driven TrainingThe Institute develops customized training activities at the request of, and in partnership with, Member States and partner organizations within and outside of the United Nations. Tailored to the needs of the requesting entities and targeted beneficiaries, activities are implemented mostly at the country and regional levels. The length of these activities may range from several days to several weeks. Activities usually include a combination of core diplomacy skills with applications to contemporary policies and issues debated in multilateral arenas. The cross-cutting nature of diplomay enables the Institute to reach out not only to requests from Ministries of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic academies, but also to requests from specialized ministries and agencies (e.g. environment, trade, science and technology) increasingly exposed to multilateral conferences, negotiations and diplomacy.
