UNITAR implements this week two training activities for African diplomats accredited to the UN Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Some forty-five diplomats, ranging from Attaché to Ambassador, and representing 30 different Member States are taking part in French and English language workshops. Both training courses are designed to assist delegates improve their knowledge and skills on negotiation. Similar to other UNITAR workshops on this topic, the training includes role plays, simulation exercises and video analysis. The South African Diplomatic Academy  and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie partner with UNITAR for six diplomacy training programmes in Addis Ababa, in 2009.
