The New York Times publishes UNOSAT maps again

It is not the first time but it always worth underlining when public media of the calibre of The New York times use UN specialised sources to produce information and news. The New York Times published UNOSAT work on pirates’ hot spots in their Sunday issue, on 17 April. UNOSAT launched a piracy monitoring activity a few years ago as part of its research on new satellite applications and solution. The success and usefulness of this type of mapping has been underlined many times since then, so that it has been decided to continue the effort. UNITAR is seeking dedicated funding from public and private entities to make this application a standard feature of UNITAR operational satellite applications.
