French-language workshop: 16-18 October 2012

The main objectives of this workshop are to familiarize the participants with the structure and form of United Nations resolutions and decisions, to help them to improve their skills in the drafting of resolutions and to enable them to acquire a better knowledge of the rules and practices relating to the adoption of resolutions.
Organization
The workshop will consist of three parts. The first one will be devoted to a presentation on the structure and drafting of resolutions and decisions; during the second part, the participants will be involved in practical drafting exercises; the last part will focus on decision making in the various organs of the United Nations and on the steps leading to the adoption of resolutions. In view of the limited duration of the workshop, the active involvement of the participants will be required throughout the course.
