Course Goals

- The main trade finance instruments and methods.
- Legal issues related to trade finance instruments and methods.
- Structured trade and commodity finance.
- The relationship between trade finance and the macroeconomic environment.
- International payment systems.
- E-trade finance development.
The goal of the course is to provide participants with a broad overview of current trade finance methods and instruments, to highlight the importance of a favourable domestic environment for sustained growth, and to discuss how the public and private sector can work together to facilitate the flows of trade and investment which fuel growth and economic development.
Target Audience
Senior and middle level officials from ministries and agencies in charge of economic development and trade, finance and trade sector professionals, officials from government bodies in charge of financial sector regulation and supervision, and other stakeholders.
