Week 1: MODULE 1
Introduction to Human development impact assessment

At the end of the 1st week the trainee will be able to describe the preconditions, objectives and the framework for conducting an HDIA of trade policy. The trainee will be able to discuss the analytical framework that underpins the undertaking of an HDIA. The trainee will be able to critically review the key issues related to trade policy making in developing countries.

Week 2: MODULE 2
Developing a conceptual framework for assessing the human development impact of trade policy

At the end of the 2nd week the trainee will be able to interpret and discuss the relationships and the transmission channels between trade and human development. The trainee will be able to associate indicators of human development to trade policy making and value the challenges of linking trade policies with human development outcomes.

At the end of the 4th week the trainee will have tested the HDIA through case studies. The trainee will be able to design an HDIA of a trade policy and apply the analytical approach to undertake an HDIA exercise, including the specification of the most adequate analytical tools.
