Fees, Certificate and Fellowships
WTI and UNITAR charge a fee to participants to cover the costs of administering and conducting their e-Learning courses. This will help WTI and UNITAR sustain their e-Learning initiative in the medium term as well as offer new and relevant course topics. With the aim of facilitating the participation of public sector officials from low income countries in their online courses, UNITAR and WTI will award a limited number of full fellowships to selected applicants. Please see below for additional information about fellowships.
Fees:
The participation fee is 600 USD per participant per course, payable by bank transfer immediately after registration.
Certificate:
Successful e-Course participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from WTI and UNITAR after completion of a course. The Certificates will be individually signed by the Director of Studies of WTI and the UNITAR Executive Director or his authorized representative.
Fellowships:
Objectives of fellowships:
With a view to contributing to bridge the knowledge gap and redress some of the asymmetries between developed and developing countries through facilitating the participation of public sector officials from low income countries in their online courses, UNITAR and WTI will award a limited number off full fellowships to qualifying applicants.
Guiding principles:
Fellowships will be awarded to selected nationals of low income countries who are employed by the public sector of their country of nationality based on individual merit and according to the selection criteria outlined below to. Click here for a list of Low Income Economies. Please note that only nationals of the 43 countries listed as low-income economies are eligible to apply for scholarships. Qualifying woman officials are encouraged to apply.
Selection criteria:
- Relevance of professional experience to the course
- Relevance of education to the course and level
- Job responsibilities in current position
- Relevance of institution or organization to which the applicant belongs
- Proficiency level in language of instruction
- Likelihood to use course content to train or share with others
- Geographic, gender, educational and professional diversity
- Evidence of endorsement or clearance by institution or organization
The actual number of fellowships awarded by UNITAR and WTI will depend on the number of confirmed self-financed participants in the respective course. For courses with up to 25 self-financed participants, three (3) full fellowships will be awarded per course. For courses with over 25 confirmed self-financed participants, UNITAR and WTI will award five (5) full fellowships per course.
How to apply for a fellowship:

When completing the online registration form, please ensure that you have ticked the box to apply for a fellowship.

Send your CV and a signed letter of nomination (in English) on the official letterhead of your organization by email to UNITAR (Address: wtielearning@unitar.org).

Your fellowship application will be reviewed by UNITAR and WTI. Due to the high number of expected fellowship applications, only successful applicants will be notified through email. Provided that seats are still available, all other applicants are given the option to participate on a self-financed basis.
- We encourage you to apply early, as fellowships will be awarded to qualifying participants on a rolling basis for every course. Please note that applications received through any other means than the online registration form and/or which are incomplete will not be considered. Thank you for your understanding.

UNITAR and WTI reserve the right to modify or suspend its fellowship programme without prior notice. Although we encourage all qualifying persons to apply, we regret not being able to offer everyone a fellowship. Decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
