Successful Launch of UNITAR/WTI e-Learning Course on “International Trade Regulation

11 May to 5 June 2009

On 11 May 2009, UNITAR and World Trade Institute (University of Bern, Switzerland) have successfully launched their first joint e-Learning course entitled “International Trade Regulation”.
Nineteen senior and middle level officials from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific region are participating in this four-week online course which includes individual study, thematic discussions moderated by senior international experts, and individual assessments.
This course is the first of a series of three joint UNITAR/WTI e-Learning courses to be conducted over the next 12 months. It is hoped that this initiative will make a contribution to bridging the knowledge gap and redress some of the asymmetries between developed and developing countries in the role that they play in the multilateral trading system.
