UN CC:Learn Partners with Connect4Climate to Raise Awareness on Climate Change

November 2016, Geneva, Switzerland - UN CC:Learn has recently joined the Connect4Climate global partnership, which was initially launched by the World Bank Group and the Italian Ministry of Environment, and joined by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. This new collaboration aims to contribute to the advance of communication for development, as it is a fundamental tool for sharing knowledge in a culturally sensitive manner and appropriate language, managing expectations, and changing perceptions and attitudes, toward the necessary behavior change.

The Connect4Climate partnership connects over 400 members around the world including civil society, media networks, international organizations, academic institutions, youth groups and the private sector.

Connect4Climate Global Partnership

Its objectives are to:

  • Raise awareness about climate change and its impact at various levels: public, private sector, and policy and decision-makers;
  • Promote commitment among the public, private sector and policy-makers to take action;
  • Build coalitions for further advocacy efforts. MDTF activities focus primarily on three key groups of stakeholders: policy-makers, the private sector, and grassroots organizations.
