UN-wide Initiative on Technology Supported Learning and Training
12 December 2008
UNITAR and 15 other UN agencies join efforts to optimize the use and delivery of technology enhanced learning, launching a UN-wide network on technology supported learning (UneLearn). The new UN-wide initiative will offer developing countries opportunities to draw upon a rich array of capacity development resources and provide targeted training and outreach to help UN country teams implement common programmes of work.
The initiative, inspired by the "Delivering as One" UN concept, aims to maximize coherence and effectiveness among UN projects as parts of efforts to implement the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). As an initial step, the UneLearn Network will carry-out a comprehensive stock-taking exercise to identify and integrate quality-assured training resources from across the UN System in several sectoral areas.
