UNITAR Builds Capacity of Professionals to Train on Climate Change
6 – 8 June, 2012, New York, USA - In answer to the growing need for capacity building in the field of climate change, UNITAR delivered a three-day Training of Trainers activity for climate change professionals at the International Telecommunication Unionoffices in New York.
The Training of Trainers programme aimed to develop the skills of professionals and experts, to enhance their capacities to effectively communicate and deliver training in the often complex and challenging field of climate change.
The training brought together a group of inspired and motivated participants, who joined energies throughout the workshop to enhance the learning experience of each other. Facilitated by Mr. Rabih El Haddad and Ms. Emily Fraser, the training built skills and knowledge in areas such as identifying personal learning styles, tailoring training presentations and instructive exercises, how to enhance and assess the effectiveness of presentations, and how to provide feedback and discuss lessons learned related to learning experiences.
As a result of the workshop, participants gained the skills and confidence needed to deliver training or enhance their delivery of training in the future. Trainers and trainees will continue the circle and network opened at the workshop so as to provide continuous and fluid support when delivering training on climate change or any subject. UNITAR looks forward to remaining in touch and invites other persons interested in participating in a similar programme in the future to submit their CVs and/or questions to Ms. Emily Fraser at ccdiplomacy<at>unitar.org
