UNITAR supports COP21 Education Day events on Friday, 4 December 2015

Climate change education is a powerful tool to help people understand the causes and consequences of climate change, prepare learners to live with its impacts, and empower them to take action on its cause.

On 4 December 2015, a thematic day on climate change education (CCE) will take place at COP 21/ CMP11 of the UNFCCC. Education is crucial to promote changes in lifestyles, attitudes and behavior needed to foster sustainable development and to address climate change. The objective of the day is to showcase good practices and lessons learned on climate change education. The agenda is available online.

UNITAR is supporting two COP21 side events. UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNITAR’s Executive Director, Mr. Nikhil Seth will be present. To receive the latest updates, please follow #EduDay on Twitter or Facebook. The entire program schedule is available online.
