This map presents satellite-derived information on the current extent and location of the three existing refugee camps within the Dadaab area as well as information on the layout and extent of the newly opened fourth camp, Ifo II (approved by Kenyan authorities for operation on 14 July 2011). A range of transportation data (roads, airfields, bridges and potential road obstacles) over the Dadaab area has been identified from analysis of satellite imagery acquired in 2009 and 2010. This is a preliminary assessment and has not yet been validated in the field. Please send feedback to UNITAR/UNOSAT at the contact information below. Additional reports will be produced as new imagery becomes available. Map scale for modified A2 prints is 1:65,000. Projection UTM Zone 37N
