This map illustrates satellite-detected areas of destroyed structures in the Kinama area of Bujumburi, Burundi. Heavy rains on 9 February caused numerous flash floods across the city and surrounding areas, and UNOSAT analysis of satellite imagery acquired by the Pleiades satellite on 14 February indicated at least 76 destroyed structures in the Kinama area shown. Satellite imagery was poor quality with haze affecting clarity and thus destroyed structures may be underestimated in this area. This is a preliminary analysis & has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT.
