This map presents the estimated total rainfall accumulation for Eastern Visaya Region in Philippines covering the period from 04 to 07 December 2014. This total estimate was derived from the Tropical Rainfall Monitoring Mission (TRMM) precipitation dataset at a spatial resolution of approximately 0.25 degrees for this region. The northwestern part of Samar Island seems to have experienced more rain precipitations and is potentially the most affected area of Samar Island. It is possible that precipitation levels may have been underestimated for local areas, and is not a substitute for ground station measurements.
