This map illustrates satellite-detected areas of potentially damaged zones in the region of Port Vila and the southwest area of Efate Island, Vanuatu. Using imagery collected by the Pleiades satellite on 15 and 16 March 2015, UNOSAT reviewed region of Port Vila and identified areas with no visible damage and potential damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Pam. UNOSAT estimates that approximately a total of 8000 damaged buildings are located in these analysed zones, including some areas with heavy concentrations of damaged buildings. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT
