This map illustrates the potential zones with a decrease of the photosynthetic activity due mainly to ash deposit all over the Ambae island. This environmental disturbance on the photosynthetic activity is identified by the difference mean values of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) percent difference from average conditions. The NDVI variation is calculated between November 2017 and November 2018 compared to average conditions of 2015, using time-series Landsat-8 Reflectance imagery processed using ClimateEngine.This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.
