This map illustrates satellite-detected fire detections, collected by the NASA VIIRS satellite via NASA FIRMS, from 1 January - 22 January 2019. The graph on the bottom represents a daily VIIRS & MODIS fire detections, during the period from 1 January 2019 to 22 January 2019. Peak values from VIIRS data are observed on the 16 Janury and 21 January 2019. This is a preliminary analysis & has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT.
