The United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development are pleased to announce a seminar on International Trade Law and Policy. Held over four days from 6 through 9 July at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the seminar aims at enhancing the knowledge on trade related-issues of delegates of permanent mission to the United Nations in New York.

The program will cover the functioning of the international trade system, including an overview of the role, structure and the basic principles of the WTO. The seminar will also give an overview of the DOHA Development Agenda, including the status of the negotiations in the various areas as well as the contentious issues involved that have prevented the conclusion of the Round. Finally, the program will look at a number of cross-cutting issues that are related to world trade and the Doha Round including the inter-linkages between trade and climate change, trade and public health, trade and gender, trade and development, and regional trade integration.
