The Art of Speechwriting

Even though our way of communication has been changed fundamentally by the advent of digital media and communications, the power of that speeches exert have not changed.

For the first time, the Division for Multilateral Diplomacy is offering a e-learning course on The Art of Speechwriting. The course will take place from 12 November to 2 December 2018.

This course will give you the essential principles of the art and craft of speechwriting. The course looks at the three golden principles of speechwriting, before moving on to how to make the content memorable and engaging. It then focuses on honing the participants writing and editing skills with specific exercises on hooking your audience and crafting media sound bites and quotes. Finally, it examines how to deliver a speech with confidence and conviction.
