CIFAL Flanders Hosted a Dialogue on Agenda 2030 during the European Development Days   

15 June 2017, Brussels, Belgium – In the framework of the European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels, the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Antwerp (CIFAL Flanders) hosted a brainstorm session to debate how to move forward towards an inclusive, participatory and representative implementation of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

The session was organized jointly with the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), bringing together more than 30 participants. Through this session, CIFAL Flanders provided a venue to discuss, among others, the linkages between business goals and the objectives and societal needs of Agenda 2030.

The European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels is a two-day international event organized by the European Commission that takes place each year to bring together the development community to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. The EDD hosted more than 120 sessions and 8,000 participants.

The United Nations were represented at the EDD by 26 UN agencies. CIFAL Flanders also participated at the United Nations Stand together with more than 90 other UN colleagues. The UN estimates that thousands of people passed by the UN Stand with active participation of several hundreds per day.
