The United Nations for Training and Research (UNITAR) is pleased to announce the High Level Panel on Human Rights and Trade which UNITAR has organized together with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). The panelists will be the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Pillay and the Director General of the WTO, Mr. Lamy. The panel will also include Ambassadors and senior civil servants.

The panel will discuss the bridge-building process between human rights and trade. It will offer new perspectives on the topic and enable the diplomats to consider a more holistic view to respond to contemporary challenges in trade and human rights. The presentations will be followed by a discussion with the diplomats present, which will serve to enhance and promote their awareness on this issue.

This event is supported by the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).

The High Level Panel on Human Rights and Trade will be held in Palais des Nations, Room XII, from 14h00 to 16h00.
