The professions in general have faced many challenges over the past few decades – from clients and citizens, the state, and corporations and organisations.

These challenges, along with shifts in technology, apply no less to the health professions which are central to our wellbeing – as highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

UNITAR together with the Institute for Responsible Leadership (IRL) are co-hosting this webinar, which will aim to explore the role of health professionals and that of responsible leadership in a changing world. Although the webinar will focus on modern neo-liberal societies, it also considers the sometimes different and more extreme challenges faced by health professions in low- to middle-income countries. In so doing, it asks questions about the leading role that health professions may play globally in the future.

This event brings together representatives from these key stakeholder groups to discuss in practical terms the measures governments and other stakeholders can take to ensure that this vital component of our societies is not left behind – now more than ever.

Participation is open to government officials, diplomats, staff of international organizations, development practitioners, faculty members, and administrators of educational institutions.
