The Ecole Nationale des Eaux et Forêts (ENEF), through a partnership established in November 2018 between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Institut Universitaire de Formation Initiale et Continue (IUFIC) within the framework of the Partnership for Action on the Green Economy (PAGE) programme, was able to develop a training programme dedicated to the Inclusive Green Economy (IGE).

The development of this training programme followed the following steps: (i) the collection of documents and appropriation of the UNITAR methodology; (ii) the holding of an awareness-raising workshop for the benefit of the key actors involved in the Rural Development sector; (iii) the detailed analysis of the training needs of the actors; (iv) the holding of a training of trainers ENEF; (v) the finalization of the 12 training modules developed.

In order to give impetus to the dynamic, it was planned, within the framework of this partnership, to train all managers working in the rural sector. This training has been provided by ENEF trainers.

The overall objective of this event is to strengthen the capacities of 50 executives from the Ministries in charge of Agriculture, Water, Animal Resources and Environment in Inclusive Green Economy.

Specifically, the civil servants trained will be able, at the end of the workshop, to use the acquired knowledge to influence the inclusion of the Inclusive Green Economy in the programming, planning and monitoring tools of the activities.

The activity took place in two phases:

Phase 1: the scoping meeting between IUFIC experts and ENEF trainers. This meeting was held on 20 November in the IUFIC training room and brought together 06 people (the 03 IUFIC experts and the 03 selected ENEF trainers). The aim was to prepare the facilitation of the session of 21 November. This meeting thus made it possible to correct the substance and form of the various papers that would be presented the next day.  It also made it possible to further strengthen the capacities of ENEF trainers on animation techniques.

Phase 2: The actual holding of the training workshop. The work of the workshop focused on three points: A plenary session made up of presentations of papers, reflection exercises administered to participants, exchanges-debates, and finally, the closing session.
