Cognitive Neuroscience is a meta model such as language or mathematics. The goal of the cognitive neuroscience area is a rigorous understanding of how the human brain supports action, affect, decision making, language, perception, reasoning, social processes, and other aspects of cognition and behavior, including how such processes develop and change in child and adult brains through time.

The brain is one of the most sophisticated structures in the universe and Cognitive Neuroscience, through its research, is showing its characteristics and the utility of knowing them. Implementing Cognitive Neuroscience Applied to Education helps teachers to learn new models of teaching and learning and encourage educational institutions to provide the support needed to embrace new models of teaching and learning.

The workshop aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Define and transmit the basic knowledge of Neuroscience in order to know its origins, its development and its epistemological foundations
  • Share knowledge that allows analyzing and formulating specific criteria on the transfer of knowledge from Cognitive Neuroscience to education
  • Establish guidelines that allow the formulation of criteria for the understanding of Cognitive Neuroscience interaction and teaching-learning process
  • Develop skills to optimize their application in practice
  • Identify contributions of Cognitive Neuroscience to Educational Institutions

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Develop and promote superior thinking, cooperative work, meaningful learning, self-learning, intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, conceptual learning, problem-solving methodology, learning to learn, etc.
  • Train educational agents in neuroscience for the application of relevant tools in the educational field

The workshop will address the following topics:

  • Teaching Neuroleadership and its impact on education
  • Neuroanatomic foundation for learning
  • Neurocognitive foundation for the teaching-learning process
  • Characteristics of bullying and early trauma
  • Neurocognitive learning mechanisms
  • Student neurocognitive model
  • Multiple intelligence as an effective instructional strategy in the neuropsychological development of students
  • P.O.D.E.R for the development of executive functions in the classroom
  • Toc Toc ... are you there? The attention systems
  • Neurostimulation: "playing is a serious affair"
  • Impact of memory systems on teaching processes - Learning
  • Learning about the brain, teaching with the brain. Can Neuroeducation change education?

The workshop will be delivered through lectures led by experts, as well as through activites such as exercises, tasks, case studies, working groups, etc.

The workshop has a fee of USD $399. To register, please contact info [at] cifalargentina.org (info[at]cifalargentina[dot]org)
