CIFAL Atlanta- SDGs workshop
The Metro-Atlanta area is home to thirteen Fortune 500 and twenty-four Fortune 1000 companies. Corporate business as well as organizations and institutions in the public sector have continued to grow at an unprecedented rate. Through this workshop, CIFAL-Atlanta, in partnership with the CIFAL Flanders, aims to teach the individuals from the public and private sector about Corporate Social Responsibility and the importance of Sustainable Development. To this end, the workshop will explore using the SDG’s as a roadmap for successful business initiatives.

At the end of the workshop, participants should possess knowledge on:
- 17 SDG’s and their 169 targets
- Implementation of Agenda 2030
- Sustainable international entrepreneurship
- Tools for stakeholder management
- Societal responsibility and becoming SDG- proof
- Application of the SDG roadmap for business
The Workshop will consist of 2 parts:
- Lecture: This lecture will be led by Peter Wollaert, the Managing Director for CIFAL Flanders. In this session, Peter will teach participants about the creation and history of the SDGs, carrying out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and being SDG-Proof at a business or institution.
- Interactive Session: Participants will form groups, evaluate their own businesses and institutions on current SDG practices, and determine a basic framework for including the SDG’s in their daily business practices.
The workshop begins with a lecture led by Peter Wollaert, Managing Director for CIFAL-Flanders, to introduce the SDGs, the creation of the Agenda 2010, the 5Ps, and Corporate Social Responsibility. After the Lecture, Mr. Wollaert will facilitate an interactive session to actively encourage the participants to evaluate their organization’s sustainability initiatives, while creating actions plans for the future. At the end of the second session, all participants will take a feedback survey to determine the effectiveness of the workshop and identify if the learning objectives were successfully achieved.
This workshop is intended for members of businesses, non-profits, private and public sector. Majoriy of the participants will be Kennesaw State University faculty and staff as well as members of the Regional Centre for Expertise Greater Atlanta (RCE).
